The Grand Forks School District has hired a Construction Manager at Risk to oversee the new Valley Middle School project…central kitchen… and safety security improvements around the district.
The school board last night selected Construction Engineers to manage the budget…construction…and bidding process.
Director of Building and Grounds Jonathan Ellwein told the board they opted to go with one single firm for the multiple projects. “Especially because we are trying to stagger The central kitchen and Valley to allow contractors to move behind each other. The safety and security we can do on a pick and choose. We thought it would be best to hold this under one umbrella for cost savings.”
In May voters approved the $79 million dollar construction plan. The actual work is expected to begin next spring.
