Clay County Resource Recovery Campus

The Clay County Resource Recovery Center (RRC) was finished in January 2023.  County residents can now dispose of their waste efficiently and responsibly, all in one convenient location. The RRC replaces the former Moorhead Transfer Station, Household Hazardous Waste Facility, and the Clay County Electronics Recycling Facility. Residents are also able to drop off their sorted household recycling.

The $21 Million facility is on 17 acres and features wide-span pre-engineered metal buildings.

  • Total CY of concrete poured was approximately 6,400 cuyd equivalent to 640 concrete trucks
  • Total weight of Rebar was 256.5 tons
  • Total SF 43,851
  • 240 light fixtures
  • The finish grade around the building footprint was raised approximately 6’ with clay and sand fill from the existing grade
  • Approximately 2500sqyd of GeoFoam blocks were installed underneath the 11” concrete tipping floor slab
