Energy & Environmental Research Center – MatEx Facility
The Materials Exploration and Advanced Materials Processing Facility for the University of North Dakota’s Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) opened in 2026. The new state-of-the-art facility builds upon on the work the EERC has started on biomass processing; critical mineral production and processing; and development of advanced carbon-based materials, such as graphene, carbon fibers, and advanced building materials.
