Groundbreaking ceremonies on the new Valley Middle School project are tentatively scheduled for April 10th.
School officials put the construction cost at around $53 million dollars.
Voters approved a $79 million dollar referendum last May – with funds also earmarked for a new central kitchen and safety improvements throughout the district.
Construction on the kitchen project adjacent to the Mark Sanford Education Center is well underway.
Both projects came in under engineer estimates.
The new Valley Middle School is expected to be completed by the winter of 2025.
